Podcast and Journalism Training

Podcast Training Program in the Shingal Region

Over six months, participants in the Shingal region engage in a specialized training program to master the art of podcast production. They acquire technical skills such as audio recording and editing, content creation, and social media promotion. Under expert guidance, they apply these skills in practice, empowering them to amplify their voices and share their stories with a wider audience.

Why Podcasts?
Podcasts offer unique advantages over other media formats:

  • Accessibility: Audiences can tune in anytime, anywhere, increasing reach.
  • Depth: Podcasts enable in-depth discussions on complex topics.
  • Intimacy: The audio format fosters a personal connection between speakers and listeners.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Producing a podcast is more affordable than creating TV or video content, making it ideal for resource-limited communities.
  • Easy Distribution: Podcasts can be shared seamlessly across platforms, reaching diverse audiences.
  • Niche Focus: Podcasts can spotlight underrepresented topics, elevating marginalized voices.

This format is a powerful tool for authentically sharing minority perspectives while connecting with a broad listener base.

Journalism Training
In parallel, participants receive training in essential journalistic techniques, including conducting respectful interviews and adhering to ethical reporting standards. These skills enable them to produce high-quality content that meets the needs of their communities.

A mentoring program provides ongoing support and career opportunities for participants.

Impact Goals
Through independent podcasts, the program seeks to:

  • Reflect the diversity of communities.
  • Foster intercultural dialogue and understanding between groups.
  • Promote social cohesion and reconciliation by sharing stories.

The program aims to launch at least five thematic podcast series aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These series will address local issues, serve as platforms for discussion, and inspire reflection.

Long-Term Vision
The initiative aspires to contribute to the development of an independent media landscape in the region. By improving access to reliable information, enhancing quality of life, and promoting gender equality, it lays the foundation for a more inclusive and empowered society.

Podcasts are a powerful tool for change: accessible, cost-effective, and deeply personal, they give marginalized voices a platform to share stories, explore complex issues, and reach diverse audiences. Through this initiative, at least five podcast series aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals will be launched, fostering intercultural dialogue, community cohesion, and gender equality.

By empowering these voices and strengthening independent media, the project promotes reliable information, mutual understanding, and social cohesion.
